The Allotment Hub @ Wheatley Lane Allotments in Winshill
This project came about following the Committee’s desire to offer a centrally located building for the use of members of the Allotment Association and their families.
Amongst other things, we envisage that this building will be used for school education lessons, members of the Burton Beekeeping Association, Allotment Committee Meetings, other community groups and a place for serving refreshments after our maintenance work parties.
But it’s primary use will be for our plot holders to be able to take a break and have a refreshing drink together and talk about the size of their marrows!
If you haven’t got a shed on your plot and it starts to rain you now have a place to shelter and have a cuppa.
In the winter months, if you want somewhere to go, you can visit the Hub and enjoy a change of scenery and a hot drink. Why not bring a packed lunch and a good book!
The building has wheelchair width access and eventually the area in front of the building will be laid to lawn. There will be ramped access to the grassed area where we hope to have picnic benches and other seating.
Booking
· In time we want to allow access to book the Hub through our website, but we are not quite at that place yet. Therefore, apart from just a casual drop in please send any booking requests to the Committee through winshillallotments@outlook.com
A member of the Committee will be back in touch as soon as feasibly possible.
