The allotments have been on the Winshill site for more than 70 years. Situated in the heart of Winshill at the rear of Wheatley Lane, we are surrounded by the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and yet only a mile or so away from the town of Burton on Trent. We have a fabulous orchard with picnic tables, a new apiary, a large bug hotel as well as a pond. We also have opened a woodland walk.
We are a friendly, inclusive allotment site, actively encouraging plot holders to participate in events and activities that run throughout the growing season. There is the added bonus of facilities on site such as a shop, toilet, car parking, water taps and electricity.
Winshill Allotments Association is a self-funded non-profit making association. Although we have the full support of the local Parish Council, all decisions and funds are made and controlled by an elected committee. The committee is made up of a Chairman, Treasurer and Secretary along with 5 other committee members who sit on the bi-monthly committee meetings. We are open to anyone from the Winshill area and also consider applications from the other areas of Burton.
