Staffordshire County Council have a partnership with a company which sells plastic water butts and dalek-shaped compost bins. The compost bins are sold at considerably lower prices than you would find in the shops although the offers appear to change over time.
In 2019 small (220l) compost bins were sent out free (plus ~£7 p&p) and larger ones (330l) were £2 plus p&p.
At the time of writing (July 2020) bins were being sold at £10 and £12 respectively which is still a significant saving from shop prices.
